Lots of items going on in our efforts to advocate on behalf of PWP’s.

I recently traveled to Washington, DC as part of the 2018 Parkinson’s Public Policy Forum, held March 20 – 22.  CAP members and colleagues included:

  • Joseph Kelley
  • Doug Dumond
  • Sarah Diaz
  • Steve DeWitte
  • Vic & Claire Gergiore
  • Lynn Hagerbrant

We were privileged to hear Senator Cory Booker from New Jersey give a stirring Key Note address, praising our Advocacy and righteousness of our cause.   Please consider dedicating the 28 minutes to watch the video of his remarks on Facebook:

Delegates were unable to make personal visits to their representatives as scheduled due to a storm that shut down Government services.  Delegates made videos and phone calls to Lawmaker offices during this scheduled time.

  • A special note of recognition and thanks to Sarah Diaz * CT delegate from Waterbury.

Ms. Diaz noticed her representative for the 5th District, Rep. Elizabeth Esty on the same plane she was taking home to Hartford.  Sarah reintroduced herself to her Representative and made the “ASK” of support for critical programs (like NIH research increases, etc.) Rep. Esty acknowledged the request and reaffirmed her ongoing support for our interests.  Go, Sarah!

I would like to thank any of our CT Advocates that sent notes from their homes during this campaign time.  Over 5000 emails were noted to have been sent during this period.

If you wish to join future advocacy efforts, please register on the Michael J Fox Public Policy Website.  They will provide all the information you will need to locate and send a personal note to your Representatives supporting the Public Policy positions they are proposing on our behalf:
