Review The Facts from People v. Anonymous
People v. Anonymous (Avon Tn. Ct., 2/27/18)
Mr. Corletta helped 2 clients with significant disabilities obtain favorable dispositions in 2 separate rural courts not known for being friendly to Defendants.
First, in People v. Anonymous (Avon Tn. Ct., 2/27/18), the client, who is Deaf, was charged with Possession of an Open Container in a Motor Vehicle.
The charge was questionable because the container was not found in the vehicle, but rather in a passenger’s possession outside the vehicle. Therefore, Mr. Corletta requested a Supporting Deposition. When the Supporting Deposition was not timely provided, Mr. Corletta moved to dismiss, and the Motion was granted without opposition. Mr. Corletta’s client, a young college student with a hearing disability benefitted from the dismissal; particularly since the client went to college out of state and could not appear in Court.
