If the house was built before the 1960s, the plumbing system most likely has air chambers, which could be filled with water. To fix the problem, drain the water out of the plumbing system and then refill it. Most homes built after the 1960s have water hammer arresters. If the parts are damaged, replacing them should fix the issue. 

2. Water Pressure Needs to Be Adjusted

The force where water travels through the pipes can also cause noise. If the water pressure is set too high, expect to hear a clamor each time you turn off the water. Most residential boilers feature pressure regulators. To stop the sounds, make sure the water pressure is set between 40 and 80 pounds per square inch.

3. Copper Pipes Overheated

Copper is vulnerable to heat. In homes with copper pipes, the channels can expand when hot water rushes through them. Depending on where the pipes are installed, they could rub against walls, studs, and additional parts of the house as they swell. The friction causes the commotion. To remedy the problem, adjust the water boiler temperature a few degrees lower than usual. When the water is cooler, the copper should retain its shape and position.
