There’s nothing quite like relaxing in your hot tub after a long day—but no one wants to sink into the soothing bubbles only to find that the edges of the hot tub are moldy or the water is filled with bits of leaves and insects. When you maintain the pH level and consistently keep your hot tub protected from debris, it really won't need a lot of extra effort to keep it clean. Pool Pro of Kihei, HI, has everything you need to get the job done right so you can get back to enjoying your well-deserved “me” time.

Before you decide that it’s time to give your custom spa a good scrubbing, you will need to keep these tips in mind:

  • Add Jet Cleaning Solution to the Tub: Before you empty your hot tub to clean it, make sure to add jet cleaning solution to the water. You can pick up this chemical and a variety of other pool supplies at Pool Pro. Let the hot tub run for a few minutes so that jets and plumbing get a good rinsing.
  • hot tubDrain & Wipe Down: Next, you will want to drain the tub.  Wipe down the acrylic interior with a soft, damp cloth. If you have any rings or residue, just use some liquid dish washing detergent, vinegar, or denatured alcohol to help rub off the dirt.
  • Do Not Use Harsh Chemicals: The acrylic in your hot tub can easily be scratched or the finish dulled by the use of harsh chemicals and scrubbing sponges. Any product that is designed to scrub counters, floors, glass, or metal can have damaging chemicals in it. It is better to stick to the mild detergents to prolong the life of your tub.

After refilling your tub, don't forget to balance the pH before using it. For more cleaning tips, make sure to refer to your owner's manual or reach out to Pool Pro for help. You can give them a call at (808) 879-3294 or visit their website for more information.
