The Coryell Memorial Healthcare System and Texas A&M Agri-Life Extension partnership was recognized as “Best Practices” at Texas Hospital Association (THA) conference in Austin for their Disease Prevention project in local schools. Kathy Lee, Coryell Memorial Special Projects Director, is one of the leaders on this community program, Grow into Health along with Julie Gardner at TAMU Agri-Life Extension.  “Coryell Memorial has invested in community outreach programs and Texas A&M Agri-Life Extension was the perfect partner for a school based nutrition and exercise educational program. The 8-week curriculum is taught not only in Gatesville but in surrounding communities and 6 other counties in Central Texas.  More than 1,200 students have been impacted by this program and results have been very positive.”
