Coryell Memorial Hospital’s Emergency Department has been surveyed by Texas Department of State Health Services and received a perfect score to keep a Level IV Trauma Center designation.  A Level IV Trauma Center has demonstrated an ability to provide advanced trauma life support (ATLS) prior to transfer of patients to a higher level trauma center. We provide evaluation, stabilization, and diagnostic capabilities for injured patients and the physicians and nurses have advanced education in care of the trauma patient. Coryell Memorial is a member of the Central Texas Regional Advisory Council and is actively involved in regional efforts to collaborate and advance trauma & emergency preparedness in our area. Injury prevention and community outreach are also key goals in the trauma program plan for the team at Coryell Memorial Emergency Department.
