Berk Trade & Business School has proudly been educating “the next generation” of industry and trade workers since 1940. Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC), and additionally backed by the NY State Education Department, Berk Trade & Business School prepares students for careers that can guarantee job success for life. Through any number of their 600-hour credit courses, the school helps train students in life’s most essential fields, such as the plumbing, automotive, and electrical trades.

An Electrical Installation course track instructs students in, and familiarizes them with, the technology and principles of residential and commercial electrical trades. Those specializing in Electrical Installation typically have the occupational objective to become fully competent in the electrical field, and qualify for a position as an Electrician’s Helper immediately following graduation.

The Electrical Installation course is broken into three units: students spend an initial 150 hours learning introductory information about installation (history, energy fundamentals, tools, et. al.) followed by 150 hours on electrical systems and core requirements (boxes, fittings, covers, device wiring, and more). The second half of the course focuses extensively on service entrance and remodeling, including farm, light commercial, and mobile home wiring, as well as information on motors and motor circuits, electrical troubleshooting, and options for future electrical careers.

This course of study includes theory of basic principles and working concepts with practical, hands-on vocational training, but it’s not the only program! Students with a variety of vocational experience, interest, free time, and talents will find the ideal course of study at Berk Trade & Business School.
