Why opt for dental implants?

You have a non-restorable tooth that has to be extracted. What are the options once extracted?

  1. Leave the space open which will result in diminished chewing power, and possibly problems with relaxation movement of neighboring teeth, not to mention the effects to physical appearance.
  1. Choose to go with a bridge,  which mandates the reduction of often virgin neighboring teeth, exposing those teeth to potential nerve damage; bridged teeth are connected eliminating the capacity to floss between them.
  1. A removable partial denture.  This is a removable appliance with a metal frame often having visible metal clasps which are unsightly and apply forces detrimental to the teeth they attach to.

The best available option is an implant; although more expensive for the moment it can offer a lifetime of service without involving neighboring teeth, and the implanted tooth and its crown have no components susceptible to decay.
