Have you ever considered exercising in the pool? This form of exercise is highly recommended by professionals in the field and offers an opportunity to perform a wide range of movements that can’t be replicated on land. It’s also convenient in that you can complete each exercise in your very own in-ground pool. Interested in learning more? Below are the top four pool exercises you should consider incorporating into a workout routine.

Top 3 Pool Exercises to Consider

1. Double Leg Lift

poolYou’ll want to start by the edge of the pool for this move. Lean back on your elbows and raise both your legs up as high as you can in the water. Lower them slowly and repeat. Keep your legs straight and as close together for best results. This exercise will work to shape your buttocks and tone your lower abdominals.

2. Underwater Jumping Jacks

Being surrounded by water adds a whole new level to jumping jacks. First, make sure you’re positioned toward the center of the pool at a place where you can just touch the floor. Spread your legs apart in a jumping jack motion and bring them back together while keeping your feet suspended and repeat. This will help you improve balance and could go a long way toward strengthening your legs.

3. Bicep Curl

There are several different types of pool weights that you can use for this exercise. Once you have selected a level to start at, begin drawing the weight up to your shoulder. Make sure to keep your arm fully underwater. This will make it a little more difficult to perform a basic curl and will help boost your bicep’s strength. Lower your weight slowly and continue lifting for as long as you can.
