In business, whenever you can streamline a process, it’s recommended you do so. With regards to paperwork, so much is being read and processed by computers, and because of that, having separate devices for printing, copying, scanning, and faxing can feel excessive and even wasteful, depending on how much office space they take up and the cost of maintenance.

Thankfully, multifunction devices solve this problem. According to Laser Line, these devices are shared by the office and designed to make handling paperwork much easier. Based in Jessup, MD, they’ve been the trusted printer service company for businesses across Maryland, Washington D.C., and Northern Virginia for nearly 30 years, and they’re here to help explain about multifunction devices.

Printing

When you need to print something to your multifunction device, the process isn’t too different from a standard printer. You’ll still click “File > Print” when you’re ready, but then, you’ll need to select the specific device name when prompted; if you’re unsure, ask the company who manages your printer services.

You’ll need to input your specific employee code to log in; then, you can press “Release” to select the documents you had sent to the device.

Copying, Scanning, & Faxing

Just like the previous task, this doesn’t deviate too much from the standard copier, scanner, or fax machine. First, you’ll place your document either in the feeder or on top of the glass. Then, press “Access”, which will prompt you to input your employee code to log in. From there, press “Fax/Scan”; you’ll have the option to either email the document, send it to a USB drive, or fax it to a number. Once you’ve made your choice, you can hit the “Start” button.
