LaRowe Gerlach Taggart LLP congratulates Attorney Laura Colt on her one-year anniversary as Partner on January 1, 2018.

Laura joined LaRowe Gerlach Taggart LLP as an associate in April 2012. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2005 and received her law degree from Hamline University School of Law in May 2011. Laura focuses her practice in the areas of Estate Planning, Elder Law, Probate, Real Estate, Corporate Law and Bankruptcy. Laura is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys.

She developed a strong desire to practice law while assisting her grandfather, Reedsburg Attorney Ken Stevens, with trust management during her undergraduate years. During law school Laura interned at the Legal Aid Society of Minneapolis and clerked at a Minneapolis law firm in its Estate Planning department.

Laura is a boomerang Reedsburg Area citizen who was raised on the peaceful shores of Mirror Lake.  She is a wife to Chad, mother to two beautiful kids, Connor and Cora Lou, and counselor to many valued clients. Laura is the fourth generation of her family to have the honor of participating in the Reedsburg community by serving on many local boards and charities.

January is a great month to review your estate plan and make sure it matches your goals for the year ahead. You want to make sure the plan still fits your wishes and takes care of people that you love while making any transition as easy on your loved ones as possible. “Client interaction is the best part of my job. I love helping people achieve their goals of simplifying their estates for their loved ones.”

Appointments can be made to meet with Laura Monday through Friday, at LaRowe Gerlach Taggart LLP, 110 E. Main Street in Reedsburg. She also welcomes initial consultations by telephone at 608-524-8231 and all are encouraged to call as needed with any questions.
