People v. W.M. (Avon Tn. Ct. 4/17)

Mr. Corletta assisted his client, a teacher, in retaining their driver license, which was probationary and threatened with revocation, in People v. W.M. (Avon Tn. Ct., 4/17).

         In this case, the client, a teacher, just had their driver license restored, and it was in probationary status. They were charged with Speeding; 95/65 on an Interstate highway. If convicted, their license would have been revoked. If convicted of any moving violation, even a reduced charge, the license still would have been revoked.

         Mr. Corletta extensively explained his client's circumstances to the District Attorney and obtained a Lifetime Abstract of his client’s operating record. Mr. Corletta was able to convince the District Attorney to reduce the charge to a mere parking violation, with a $150.00 fine. Mr. Corletta’s client was greatly appreciative of this result, as it ensured the client’s continued ability to get to work.
