For kids, summer means a break from school and a chance to play. For parents, however, summer is an unstructured time when their kids aren’t learning new information. A quality summer camp can meet both needs by providing children with the chance to play and learn while giving parents the peace of mind that comes from knowing their little ones are having fun and learning year-round. Wondering what your child will get out of summer camp? Les Enfants Preschool of Palisades Park, NJ, explains how their summer camp expands on early childhood education programs.

Learning Through Play

child summer campLes Enfants Preschool believes children learn best through guided play in a nurturing environment. The school’s summer camp classes are based on weekly, age-appropriate themes and provide a host of fun activities that also enhance their cognitive and emotional development. Kids will enjoy a weekly kick-off activity that introduces the theme, complete with arts and crafts, science activities and outdoor gross motor activities on the school’s spacious playground. Three times a week, kids can cool off in the pool at the Palisades Park Swim Club. Special events include a water inflatables party to kick off and end summer camp, Kidz Musik concerts, visits from the Jolly Trolley gymnastics bus and more!

Field Trips

At summer camp, older kids are given a chance to learn through supervised field trips to the US Gymnastics Center, High Exposure rock climbing center, Jenkinson’s Aquarium, Liberty Science Center, Dave & Buster’s, and Rizzo’s Wildlife Discovery Center. All activities are carefully planned according to age, so your children will be actively involved and engaged in collaborative learning and activities that will leave them ready for the school year ahead.

Experienced staff members supervise all activities and field trips, and state-of-the-art security is in place at the school. Additionally, the school will send daily photos and reports to parents via email so that you can enjoy peace of mind all summer. Camp classes are open from 7 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. for ages 2.5 through 13. Half-day, full-day, and extended day programs are available with flexible 3–9 week sessions.
