When you’re looking to buy meat from your local supermarket, you may be wondering what the difference is between grass-fed beef and factory-farmed meat and how it affects you. Your local farmer's market, Cranberry Country Market in Tomah, WI discusses the benefits of choosing grass-fed beef.

Sweet Grass Acres - Hillsboro, WI

Our goal is to offer quality meat as a family-based venture on our small chunk of green - complete with sunshine and blue sky! We endeavor to raise our animals organically with sustainable farming practices in a natural environment as much as possible. Cows, pigs, and chickens enjoy our clover and high sugar grass pasture.(Non-GMO) No pesticides, herbicides, chemicals, or chemical fertilizers are used. We use a paddock system with our cows - they eagerly move to fresh pasture 1-3 times a day. We get our cows as very young calves to ensure no grain. Bottle-fed calves (all milk, non-medicated milk replacer) make gentle, friendly animals for the family to enjoy.

At Cranberry Country Market, their farmer’s market is being stocked in the near future with grass-fed beef that's grown organically and locally when available. This type of meat is grown using sustainable farming practices that advocate for healthy cattle, nourishing food, and strong local communities.
